Every year, the University Students’ Council at Western University hosts a general election, allowing all undergraduate and professional students at Western, Huron, Brescia, and King’s choose their elected student representatives, including:
  • USC President
  • Faculty and affiliate council presidents
  • USC Councillors
  • Student senators
  • Board of Governors
  • London Youth Advisory Council representative
Student representatives amplify students’ voices to university administrators and all three levels of government, while working tirelessly to improve students’ experience at Western and our Affiliates

Roles and Responsibilities

The Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) is the second governing figure in the administration of USC elections collaborating with the Chief Returning Officer. The DRO is responsible for assisting the Elections Committee, Chief Returning Officer and Manager, Advocacy and Government Services in the execution of Fall and Spring Elections, in both leadership and supportive roles.
