Hi, my name is Ryan Malabanan, and I am a first-year student studying Politics, Philosophy and
Economics. With experience this past year as a First-Year Representative for the Social Science
Students’ Council (SSSC), I have witnessed and experienced issues that affect students on
campus, such as a lack of understanding and engagement with the USC’s mandate.
Furthermore, my experience in other roles has taught me the importance of collaboration and
the impact individuals have when working together on a common goal. As a USC Councillor, I
envision a campus where every voice is heard, and every member feels engaged and
empowered to contribute to the growth and well-being of Western students!
